Zach's 4 weeks!

Photobucket

Our little Zach is 4 wks old already! Boy how time flies. We went to the dr. yesterday and our little chunker is now 8lbs 14 oz. He has gained a pound and 7 oz in 2 weeks! That is very very good, especially for a MSPI baby. He is starting to be more awake during the day, keeping his eyes open more often, and starting to look at you like he knows what is goin on. We've even managed a smile or two. He's one lil snuggle bug.

Getting some relief!

Zach will finally be getting some relief! The last few days we have noticed he has been making a chewing face, gulping, shaking his head when he eats, not sleeping well at night, etc. The other kids had reflux and I was assuming that is what we were dealing with. So, a quick call into the dr. with my diagnosis and a script has been called in to the pharmacy! We will get that started today and hopefully our little Z man will be feeling like himself in no time! We have elevated his bassinet mattress to help with the sleeping issues and he did manage to sleep for 4 hrs last night....WOOHOOO. Usually its a 1 1/2 hr nap and then back up to eat, which probably wasnt really a hunger issue was more that he was having some discomfort/pain and wanted to suck.

Other than that our little boy is doing wonderfully! I cant believe he is already 3 wks old! He loves his fingers and LOVES to pee on mom and dad. Of course the nearest thing to grab to cover up the fountain is the clean diaper we were just going to put on so needless to say we are going through diapers like crazy! The kids get a big kick out of Zach peeing on us. I however dont think its very funny. Especially at 3am which then always includes a full change of clothes for him and usually mama's shirt.

I will be posting new pics very soon. Zach is bellowing for some attention so this is all the time I have for now!

Life with a newborn again

We are in heaven. Zach has added a new flair to our family. The kids are in love and obsessed with him, and I must say so is his mama and daddy. I may be partial, but, he is the best baby in the world (well and T is too-right Julie? lol) He had a bath today and LOVED it. Did not hear one peep out of him, well, besides him making a little present for mama in his towel. But hey, that's ok. He is all curled up on my chest now, fast asleep.

BF is going wonderfully. I am sticking to my diet, in fact, I have turned into a MSPI policemama. I read ingredients on everything, go to fast food websites for their allergen listings in their foods, and obsess over it to the point where I am starting to drive people crazy about the whole thing (sorry in advance). But, if it makes my child healthy, and gives him the best that he deserves then I am doing it. If I dont know what is in something, I just dont eat. Plain and simple. He eats every 2-3 hrs or so, sometimes will go for a good 3.5 hrs at night. Just depends on how long he eats on one side at a time. I am still working on how to BF in public, we have yet to go anywhere, but, we have started to master the blanket over the shoulder trick. He is a pro eater though and had gained 4 oz in one day when his nurse came to check on him. He is now at 7lbs.

Life in a large family is wonderful and I never realized how special a large family is. I have quite a few friends with large families, and when we say large, we are talking 4+ more kids. Sure we give up alot of things, like frequent hair appointments, mani's and pedi's, brand new vehicles, shopping sprees, driving a 2 door car and brand new items, but, we wouldnt want it any other way. They are only little for so long, and you only live once. Different things makes different people happy, and there are a very special select few in this world that can handle large families and I praise them for what they do. Sure it can be total choas sometimes, but, I wouldnt trade it for the world.

Phototherapy PEP Bed

Here is Zachary in his PEP bed on Sunday night. He would only sleep in there for 20 minutes at a time and would scream otherwise. Thankfully he no longer has to be in it. I cant imagine being put in a "briefcase" and put on a mask and expect to just lay there!! Poor thing.

He's Here!!!

Zachary Addison has finally arrived!

He made his appearance on Jan 3rd, 2008 at 11:09am. Weighing in at 7lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. He has tons of hair and is just a perfect little boy!

He does currently have jaundice and is on home therapy lights. He will need to be kept under them at all times unless he is out for a feeding.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and coming along for the ride through this wonderful journey.

Keep returning for updates on our new little addition!!

37.5 weeks

I cannot believe Noodle will be here within the next 2 weeks! I cannot imagine life w/ a newborn again, but Im sure its just like riding a bike. We are just about all ready for the new arrival. Here is a recent picture, 37.5 weeks!
Update: Just back from the doctors office. Nothing too exciting, we are still just 1 cm dialated, and he is already at 0 station (which means locked into the pelvis). Doctor sd that only 1 cm doesnt mean much since this is baby number 4, it could be anytime. Still having contractions, nothing too spectacular though. As of today's paper this morning, there has yet to be a New Years Baby born....COME ON NOODLE DO YOUR STUFF!!
